Does Virexa Private store my email?

No. Email is used once to deliver a 6-digit verification code, then discarded. It is not stored on the Virexa Private account.

Is Virexa Private end-to-end encrypted?

Yes, for chat text on the web client. The browser creates keys with the Web Crypto API, encrypts with AES-256-GCM, and wraps keys with ECDH on the P-256 curve. Private keys stay in that browser’s IndexedDB. If decryption fails, the app fails closed.

Can Virexa Private read my messages?

Virexa Private is designed so the server sees an encrypted envelope, not the words. The company does not collect message contents to reproduce later. If a lock cannot open on the device, the UI shows Encrypted message.

A call is just another way to be in the chat

Calling lives on the conversation, not on a dialer full of numbers. Open a direct chat or a group, tap voice or video, and Virexa Private asks the browser for the microphone — and the camera, if it is a video call.

While it connects you will see Calling, Ringing, or Connecting. When it is live, the overlay says In call and shows the other person’s name. Hang up, mute, or turn the camera off without leaving Virexa Private.

Audio only. A simple portrait of who you called, and controls for mute and hang up.

Their picture and yours, side by side on a wide screen. Camera can be switched off mid-call.

One-to-one or group

The same overlay works from a direct message or from a group conversation.

Incoming ring

When someone calls you, Virexa Private can show an incoming card so you can accept or decline.

Video capture is requested at a portrait-friendly size so a face-to-face hello feels close on a laptop window. Local video is muted on your preview so you do not hear yourself. Remote audio and video play as soon as the other side is connected.

How the connection is made

Virexa Private uses WebRTC in the browser. Each participant creates a peer connection. Ice candidates and session descriptions travel over Virexa Private's realtime channel so the two (or more) browsers can find each other. Media then flows on that peer connection.

WebRTC encrypts the media path in transit with the browser’s built-in DTLS-SRTP. That is not the same device lock as chat text — chat bodies are sealed with the Virexa Private end-to-end envelope on this device. Calls are a live stream set up through Virexa Private signaling, then carried as an encrypted WebRTC session between the people on the call.

To help peers discover a path, Virexa Private uses public STUN servers. There is no phone-network hop and no SIM.

After the call

A call can leave a log in the thread so the conversation remembers that you spoke. The chat itself stays the place for messages, photos, GIFs, and voice notes when you would rather not be live.

If the browser cannot get the microphone, Virexa Private will ask you to allow it — the same permission used for voice notes in the composer.

What calling is not

Virexa Private is not a phone company. You cannot dial a mobile number. There is no PSTN bridge, no SMS, and no contact-sync from your address book. You call the username you already chat with. Windows, Android, and iOS calling will follow those apps; web calling is what you can use today.
